Asset Management Association Switzerland Appoints Adrian Schatzmann As New CEO
Board of Directors of the Asset Management Association Switzerland (AMAS) have elected Adrian Schatzmann as the organisations' new CEO.
“The Board of Directors is very pleased to have gained in Adrian Schatzmann an expert who will use his excellent network and broad experience to further expand the Asset Management Association Switzerland. Adrian Schatzmann is a strong personality who stands out through his in-depth industry know-how, entrepreneurship and international experience,” said Iwan Deplazes, President of AMAS.
Schatzmann will take up his position on 1 January 2021. AMAS’ primary objective is to raise awareness in Switzerland of the relevance of the country's asset management industry.
“I'm very much looking forward to taking on the new challenge for AMAS. In my work for the association, I will step up my dialogue with the public and politicians and bring the concerns of the asset management industry closer to the stakeholders. Promoting sustainability in asset management is a major concern for me personally. By sustainability, I mean not only considering ESG criteria, but also the long-term safeguarding of our social welfare institutions, especially the occupational pension scheme,” commented Schatzmann.
Schatzmann founded Clear Minds Investment AG and has been its managing director since 2017. At the same time, he has been active in various advisory functions, including at the Swiss Bankers Association. Prior to founding Clear Minds, he headed UBS Wealth Management’s global sales and distribution business for investment funds and ETFs.
Markus Fuchs is stepping down from his position as CEO of the Asset Management Association after eight years. For the time being, he will continue to provide operational support to the association before concentrating on selected mandates in business and administration.
“The Asset Management Association is greatly indebted to Markus Fuchs for his outstanding accomplishments for the fund and asset management sector. He deserves credit for the major contribution he has made to the association in the past decade,” said Deplazes.
