Varagon Capital Partners Hires Suraj Panjwani As Managing Director

U.S. middle market direct lender Varagon Capital Partners has hired Suraj Panjwani as Managing Director, a source told AlphaWeek. Panjwani will report to Karen Halliday, Partner and Head of Business Development and Investor Relations.

Panjwani most recently was at Invesco for the last 3.5 years leading distribution of the firm’s private credit & private markets capabilities with a focus on consultants, OCIOs and Endowments & Foundations. He joins Managing Director Edward Kung, who started with Varagon earlier this year, as part of the firm’s build-out of its business development and investor relations team.

Panjwani's LinkedIn profile states that he started at Varagon Capital in May: he previously spent time at Chenavari, Och-Ziff and BlackRock. A spokesperson for Varagon Capital confirmed the hire but declined to comment further.
