A Leg To Stand On Expands Reach to Three New Program Countries

A Leg To Stand On has announced the addition of three new program partners. These partners in Laos, (Cooperative Orthotic and Prosthetic Enterprise, COPE), India (GetBak), and Uganda (Comprehensive Rehabilitation Services in Uganda, CoRSU), will further expand ALTSO’s mission of providing free orthopedic care, including prosthetic limbs, orthotic devices, and appropriately fitted wheelchairs, to children in the developing world. ALTSO now operates 11 programs in 10 developing countries across Asia, Africa, and Latin America.

ALTSO’s Director of Programs, A.J. Warco says, “It is an honor and privilege to work with such a diverse group of world-renowned orthopedic institutions. We will always be grateful for their trust, dedication, and compassion to our combined causes of providing free orthopedic care to children in need. We are also grateful for our supporters, without whom we would not be able to expand, thereby allowing us to treat more CoolKids year after year.”

ALTSO will begin each partnership by delivering a shipment of their Joshi modular prosthetic limb kits, in order to begin treatment immediately.
