Blackstone's Stephen A. Schwarzman Signs Giving Pledge

Blackstone Co-Founder, Chairman and CEO Stephen A. Schwarzman has signed up to Warren Buffet and Bill & Melinda Gates' Giving Pledge, which asks billionaires to publicly commit to giving the majority of their wealth to philanthropy.

"My philanthropy has brought a tremendous sense of joy and meaning to my life and I anticipate I will find more ways to give back during my lifetime", wrote Schwarzman on LinkedIn. "I am joining because I think it’s an important signal to encourage others to step up philanthropically as well."

According to the Giving Pledge website, more than 200 individuals from 23 countries have signed up.
